KIGALI, March 19 (AFP) - At least one person was killed when a bomb exploded Thursday in a collective taxi in the centre of Kigali, Rwanda Radio announced.

A diplomatic source said the powerful explosion, at the central bus station, had apparently left five dead.

The radio said some 30 people were injured, 10 of them seriously.

The diplomatic source said there was little doubt the explosion was a terrorist act.

The minibus had just pulled into the bus station after a journey from Kibongo, near the Tanzanian border. Diplomatic source said the explosion occurred just after four soldiers alighted from the vehicle.

Early last week a truck hit a mine in the capital, but its driver was unhurt, diplomatic sources said.

Two other vehicles registered in Tanzania hit mines in the southeast of the country on Wednesday. It was not immediately known whether there were any casualties then, the diplomatic source added.

Massacres of Tutsis by Hutu tribesmen left at least 60 dead early this month in the country, according to official sources. Human rights activists said the massacres had left at least 300 dead.
